The project has built several prototype rooms of that are close replicas of what will likely be seen in the new Acute Services Building.
These were designed after extensive consultation and interviews with patients, carers and staff that helped create Emotional Design Briefs.
The architects are then guided by these to design spaces that aim to increase positive feelings.
Further feedback from clinicians ensures the rooms are fit for purpose and help patients receive the treatment required and our project user groups and the simulation team were also involved in the planning and testing of the rooms. Almost 200 staff got to tour the rooms recently. Check out the video below to hear their thoughts.
