A window to the future

At the John Hunter and John Hunter Children’s Hospitals, the windows in more than 100 patient rooms overlook the site of the future Acute Services Building.

Patients and visitors regularly ask clinical staff at the hospital, “What are they building over there?” Well, now they can learn more with a simple snap and click.

The project team recently applied stickers to patient windows that feature a QR code, which takes users on a video tour.

The video shows what the new Acute Services Building and the precinct as a whole will look like when it’s completed.

The Acute Services Building is due to open in late 2025 and will connect with the existing John Hunter Hospital. Refurbishment of the existing hospital and campus will be completed in 2026.
