Finalising project designs and plans - Gunnedah, Moree and Glen Innes
SHARE

We’re nearly finished planning and design for the redevelopment projects at Moree, Gunnedah and Glen Innes hospitals. The global escalation of building costs faced by the construction industry has resulted in new designs that deliver on priority areas, ensures all existing services can continue onsite and allows for future work or stages. The valuable feedback gained through staff and community consultation has been considered as part of the new designs.
What’s being delivered?
The Moree Hospital Redevelopment features a new acute services building, which will house the emergency department and operating theatres, medical imaging department, maternity, birthing and inpatient unit, pathology, and a new main entry and front of house.
On the Gunnedah Hospital Redevelopment, the design includes a new acute services building on the hospital campus, to house the emergency department, and new birthing, maternity and inpatient unit. The new building will be linked to the existing building. A new main entry to the hospital will be created off Marquis Street, through refurbishment of the former community health entry.
The Glen Innes Hospital Redevelopment design features a new acute services building, to accommodate the emergency department, medical imaging department, maternity, birthing and inpatient unit, and a new main entry and front of house.
What’s next?
The team will continue to work with staff and the community to finalise the design over the coming months.
Construction is expected to commence in late 2023 on the Gunnedah project, and early 2024 on the Moree and Glen Innes projects. All projects are forecast to be complete in 2025.
